Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Franky Fox has been a well known name on various productions across Southern California. Franky Fox began his music journey as a child who learned guitar from his folk playing chess teacher. In high school he started his band, Franky Flowers, that became known throughout the local scene. During his time at California Institute of the Arts he built out a studio in his parents’ garage that he called Camellia Sound. Shortly after at the age of 19 Franky knocked on the doors of the legendary Valentine Recording Studios and secured an internship. Franky cut his teeth at Valentine, learning how to record analog on the studios vintage consoles and numerous tape machines under the guidance and mentorship of co-owner and in house producer, Nic Jodoin. He worked his way up from intern to co-chief engineer over the course of his 7 year stay at the studio. He then jumped to freelance work, engineering for producers such as Nick Waterhouse and Noah Georgeson–working at studios such as East West, Sunset Sound and Sargent Recorders to name a few. Franky won his first Grammy in 2026 for his engineering on Jon Batiste’s Big Money. In 2025 Franky opened Eastern Recorders–a studio he designed and built and now operates in East Los Angeles. In addition to his work making records for artists at Eastern, Franky works on recordings for his current project, Prefix, as well as his scoring compositions. Whether you need him for production, songwriting, or as player, Franky can get the job done.
